One register for every licensed food and health-related establishment.
The Facility Registration Information System is the Ministry of Health's register of Ethiopia's hotels, guest houses, restaurants and catering businesses. It carries an application from first submission through document verification, on-site inspection and the regulatory decision, to the certificate of competency itself — and keeps every step on one file that an officer, an inspector and the facility can all see.
Who it covers
How licensing works
- 1Apply
The facility chooses its type and submits the form with its licences and documents.
- 2Verification
A licensing officer checks the documents and may ask the applicant for more information.
- 3Inspection
Inspectors visit the premises and complete the ministry's checklist for that type.
- 4Decision
After the licence fee, the Regulatory Head approves, returns or refuses the application.
- 5Certificate
An approved facility receives a QR-coded certificate anyone can verify, and its own portal.
